Services · Brand Direction
A brand identity that makes your value clear.
If your brand feels unclear, inconsistent or no longer reflects the level of your business, we start by fixing the foundation. We clarify your positioning, message and visual direction so the right people understand your value and remember you.
Who it's for
Brand direction is usually the right starting point when:
- Your business has grown, but the way it looks and speaks has not kept up.
- People find it hard to explain what makes you different from the alternatives.
- Your visuals change from one channel to the next, so nothing feels like one brand.
- You are preparing a new website or shop and want the foundation settled first.
The problems we solve
An unclear position
When a business tries to speak to everyone, it is remembered by no one. Without a clear position, every design decision becomes a matter of taste rather than purpose.
Inconsistent visuals
A logo, a few colours and fonts chosen at different times rarely add up to a recognisable identity. Small inconsistencies quietly reduce trust.
No shared rules
Without guidelines, every new page, post or print piece starts from zero, and the brand drifts a little further each time.
What's included
01
Brand positioning
We clarify what makes your business valuable, who it needs to reach and how it should be positioned, so the message is easier to understand and harder to overlook.
02
Visual identity system
A coherent set of visual elements built around that position, designed to work together rather than as isolated pieces.
03
Typography and colour direction
Typefaces and a colour palette chosen to express the character of the brand and to stay legible and consistent across screens and print.
04
Brand guidelines
A clear reference that explains how the identity is used, so you, your team and future collaborators can apply it with confidence.
How we work
01 · Clarity before decoration
Before any visual work begins, we clarify your offer, audience and business goals, and agree the message and priorities that will guide every decision.
02 · Direction
We translate that clarity into a visual direction, with typography, colour and imagery chosen to make the message clearer rather than simply more decorative.
03 · System and handover
The direction becomes a usable system and guidelines, ready to carry into a website, a shop or anything else the business needs next.
Is this the right service?
Brand direction defines how your business is positioned and presented. It does not include building a website or online store; those are separate services that can follow on from it.
If your positioning is already strong and you only need a website, a custom website project may be the better place to start.

Questions
Do I need brand direction before a new website?
Not always. If your message and visual identity are already clear and consistent, we can work from them. If they are not, settling the brand first usually makes the website clearer and the project smoother.
Is this just a logo?
No. A logo is one part of a visual identity. Brand direction also covers positioning, typography and colour direction, and the guidelines that keep everything consistent.
What do I receive at the end?
The deliverables listed above: your brand positioning, a visual identity system, typography and colour direction, and brand guidelines.
